The TEMPLE OF ISHTAR exists to serve love in all its forms.
Our aim is to return humanity to its true spirituality through love and respect for sensuality, sex and the worship of Ishtar.
If we deny the world of flesh we destroy the world of flesh.
All acts of consensual love are prayers to Ishtar, all consensual sexual acts are Her rites - be they straight, gay, multipartner or solo.
It is our aim to dissolve the prurient attitudes to sex imposed by several thousand years of Monotheism and return loving sex to its proper position in western society - as worship.

Hello,
You found me on MySpace and I found you on Facebook. Frankly, I'm fascinated.
I'd love to know who you are and what you're about (or is that too obvious a question?).
I'm also very interested in Ishtar and the concept of matriarchal goddess culture, which probably developed into the the temple "prostitution" of which Ishtar is so famous. You may find my post called "Sex and Violence?" on The Dionysian interesting.

Sadly, we are only a virtual Temple for the foreseeable future, but we are building up a strong base of friends and lovers. If we can encourage them in the ways of Ishtar, then they can encourage others and Ishtar's influence will spread again.
